NameCheap Review – Is NameCheap a Good Joomla Hosting Provider

Famous for domain registration, NameCheap also offers a variety of hosting products and services, including shared hosting, reseller hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated hosting and email hosting. All NameCheap hosting solutions support Joomla.

To satisfy the demand of many visitors who know little about NameCheap, we make this objective NameCheap review. We tested NameCheap and collected a lot of information including almost all aspects people may concern, such as price, features, reliability and technical support. This NameCheap review is based on our real tests and surveys, so it is practical and credible.

Price

NameCheap releases four shared hosting plans, which are named as Value, Professional, Ultimate and Business SSD. Prices of the four plans are $3.98/mo, $7.48/mo, $13.98/mo and $19.98/mo severally. The Basic plan is indeed a cheap hosting plan, but the other three plans are relatively expensive in the industry. Broadly speaking, the pricing level of NameCheap is slightly higher than what it should be. Plus, at present, the company does not issue any coupons and discounted prices.

Unlike other hosting providers who provide 30 days (or longer) money back guarantee, NameCheap only offers a 14-day money back guarantee. This short-term guarantee to some degree implies that the company is not confident in its hosting quality. For customers, it is necessary to get a full understanding before going with such a treacherous company.

Features

featuresAs is well-known to all, flexibility and high-customization are two crucial factors that attract Joomla hosting user. Therefore, sufficient resources and features are necessities. The four hosting plans of NameCheap are equipped with different features according to their target customers and prices. According to our analyses, they are kind of limited especially the Basic plan.

The Basic plan comes with only 25 GB RAID protected disk space and five websites hosted. Besides, many useful and important features like Cron Jobs, PostgreSQL database, Ruby on Rails, Apache manager and phpAdmin are not available. Though the Ultimate and Business SSD hosting plans have unlimited websites and unlimited bandwidth (5000GB for Business SSD), they are still not cost-effective at all. After all, they are expensive for most shared hosting demanders.

Reliability

Good performance of hosting means that it enables websites to be accessible and fast-loading all the time. In other words, webmasters need to pay special attention to the stability and high-speed of servers.

NameCheap has data centers in UK and US respectively, which enables customers to choose the closer one to host websites. However, the performance of NameCheap is still disappointing. To test NameCheap, we hosted websites on it for several months and collected real-time data during the period.

Averagely, NameCheap downs for about once a week and sometimes downtimes last for over 12 hours. Besides, the average page loading time is longer than two minutes, which is quite disturbing and annoying. We also collect hundreds of user comments on the internet and find that many people also suffer frequent downtimes, which further makes the 99.9% uptime guarantee of NameCheap ridiculous.

Technical Support

supportNameCheap offers barely satisfactory technical support. It offers ticket and live chat support. However, in many cases we contacted its support center, staffs were offline or just busy. Then we submitted tickets but received responses half day later or longer.

The most disappointing thing is that NameCheap does not provide hotline support. When in emergency, customers have to turn to live chat or just wait. Frankly speaking, the absence of phone call support causes inconvenience throughout the whole test. We strongly suggest that users think twice before purchasing NameCheap services and products.

Conclusion

Now customers probably know that choosing NameCheap is not a wise decision. There are so many reliable companies in hosting field that provide more favorable Joomla hosting plans. So we recommend you to consider other web hosts who offer more cost-effective, fast and stable Joomla hosting solutions.

Choosing namecheap was one of the best decision I have ever taken. It is working great for my small business. Namecheap is just great in terms of speed. The SSL certificate helped me in saving my website from getting hacked. All over my experience with Namecheap has remained amazing.

Popularly known for domain registration, NameCheap is a favorite among Joomla hosting users for its flexibility and the level of customization that they offer. I personally like the flexibility they provide to choose the location of the data center my website uses to ensure proximity. The only thing that made me regret picking NameCheap is the absence of hotline support. This for me is a deal breaker.

Right An. Really NameCheap is undoubtedly the best! All issues are resolved quickly. Amazing tech support.

NameCheap is one of the popular hosting services chosen worldwide and for a reason! They have got an amazing team which is up 24/7 for any assistance, hence making it very customer friendly. It is very smooth and makes it very easy to run any software. The service is highly professional and totally reliable.

I totally agree with you Adam. Just like the name, cheapest services.

Namecheap over anything else with Joomla, always! I chose the Power package of their three business class packages, and I'm not disappointed. Growth via performance, marketing reach to all social media, search engines, etc. through their immaculate advertising credits has been really helpful for me to expand my business. Thanks to Namecheap in making me a business mogul.
